Hello everyone, The devel landing gates are now back open. QA finished the assessment of the RC image so landings to the overlay PPA can now continue normally.
For this week we plan to prepare and submit for sign-off the hotfix OTA still based on ubuntu-rtm. Although it's not the official vivid-based OTA-4, it's still bundled with many decent fixes (check recent RTM commitlogs for a brief overview). We will proceed according to the standard milestone release schedule [1], but since QA will probably not have to run the whole regression suite, we *might* have the image in the rc channel earlier this time. It all depends if there are no regressions introduced by recent changes in 14.09. Still, the expected release date is next week around Monday. And the next official vivid-based OTA is planned in 2-3 weeks. From CI Train related news: the train Google Spreadsheet is broken once again, losing state every few hours. Be prepared for some inconveniences if you're a lander or tester. Good news is that the replacement development is steadily moving forward and Rober mentioned it to be ready in a few weeks time. We also know now the official name of the w series: wily werewolf. We will add support for the new series to the train as soon as all the release pockets are open. But let's concentrate on making vivid promotable for now.
