I use speedtest-cli. From your PC (or if you're hardcore you can type it all in the terminal on the device) $ adb shell $ wget -O speedtest-cli https://raw.githubusercontent.com/sivel/speedtest-cli/master/speedtest_cli.py $ python3 speedtest-cli If you plan to use it a lot, maybe edit the first line to say:- #!/usr/bin/env python3 Then chmod +x the script and you can run it directly. I quite like using it in the terminal on the device. Works for me:- phablet@ubuntu-phablet:~$ python3 speedtest-cli Retrieving speedtest.net configuration... Retrieving speedtest.net server list... Testing from Virgin Media ... Selecting best server based on latency... Hosted by UK Broadband/PCCW (Ealing) [40.83 km]: 21.424 ms Testing download speed........................................ Download: 21.97 Mbit/s Testing upload speed.................................................. Upload: 5.96 Mbit/s Cheers, -- Alan Pope Community Manager Canonical - Product Strategy +44 (0) 7973 620 164 [email protected] http://ubuntu.com/ -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-phone Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-phone More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
