... I've used Simplenote for the last 8 years, and find it invaluable. 
The nvPY client does however have one killer feature missing: the 
ability to choose the directory to which the database auto-saves: 
Simplenote server, HD, private/public cloud. If it were just a matter of 
writing a couple of lines of code, I'd be prepared to Paypal the price 
of a couple of pints...!
