Hi all! I've been working on a document describing a proposal on how to change account-polld (the background service taking care of GMail, Twitter and other notifications) to allow click packages to extend it by providing their own polling plugins.
One example of apps which would benefit from this is Dekko, which already includes code to poll IMAP and POP3 accounts and that could be made to run periodically to check for new e-mail.
