Being intuitive is sometimes a very subjective thing... we can't forget that
Android is not just Android: it has many different faces (Nexus is not the same
as Samsung Note which is different to Galaxy, ZTE, LG etc.). I liked my Note
but hate my girlfriends Galaxy. I even wrote a very long bug report which was
killed with one e-mail-someone had to explain to me how to use my bq.
Someone wrote me once that Unity was tested for being intuitive and it is more
intuitive than Gnome 2.x used to be. My answer was: give a 6 years old child
two computers: one with Unity and one with Gnome 2.x and You will see what
"being intuitive" means.For me something is intuitive when You don't need to
learn how to use it. If You use Unix since 1995 You can say that it is
intuitive. Give my mother or my grandma a phone and she will tell You if it is
intuitive. Unfortunately most software developers never do it.

One thing that Canonical got spot on was the UI. It really is a joy to use
compared to other devices and is by far the best feature.
My girlfriend has an Android tablet and every time I use it I am amazed at
how clunky and unintuitive it is compared to Ubuntu.
Everything else however significantly less so. I hope they continue with
the phones, they were really on to something but as usual, went off in a
different direction.
