If the screen is unlocked then there is no problem, it goes with the other carrier and everything is fine. The only way to have it back is to reboot, similarly to what happens here https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-devices-system-image/+bug/1435328 . Also switching manually back to the other carrier does not make it come back.
