That project seems to be dead as you already pointed out, I joined #ubuntu-laptop channel (3 people in there) but they couldn't help me about it, confirming the project looks dead. I also checked ML archives but no clue about the activity of the project. I don't know how to contact the project leader, I can't find info about him.
