Since you mentioned Thunderbird directly, I would encourage you to work
with Dan who is our resident expert on gtk apps and autopilot :-) I've
cc'd him on the mail, though I suspect he'll reply soon since I've
summoned him :-)
Writing autopilot tests is fun and rewarding, but can be a challenge at
