16.04.3 and doesn't appear to be an issue. I am able to play youtube videos in all browsers currently: chromium-codecs-ffmpeg-extra: Installed: 64.0.3282.119-0ubuntu0.16.04.1 chromium-browser: Installed: 64.0.3282.119-0ubuntu0.16.04.1 google-chrome-stable: Installed: 64.0.3282.119-1 firefox: Installed: 58.0.1+build1-0ubuntu0.16.04.1 opera-stable: Installed: 50.0.2762.67 Sounds like a Mint problem to me.
