In the beginning of the cycle there was a bug that displayed black screen instead of the default wallpaper when launching ubiquity in "greeter mode" (Try or Install buttons visible) or in the "Install now" mode directly from boot options.
I have now tested ubuntu, lubuntu, xubuntu and believe the bug is fixed.
