The "Platform development" mode is moved to the "Advanced" tab of the
device page and tested to be working.

Ctrl+f11/Enable platform tools does nothing

Bug description:
clicking crtl+f11 or selecting tools>ubuntu>device control> enable
platform tools does nothing on my device.
I am using Trusty on the device, 12.04 in PC, with QTCreator 2.8.1
if I then run manually from: /usr/share/qtcreator/ubuntu/scripts
./device_developertools_install <device_id>
then the platfrom tools are installed succesfully
