========================================================================== Ubuntu Security Notice USN-8623-1 July 29, 2026
linux-nvidia-6.17 vulnerabilities ========================================================================== A security issue affects these releases of Ubuntu and its derivatives: - Ubuntu 24.04 LTS Summary: Several security issues were fixed in the Linux kernel. Software Description: - linux-nvidia-6.17: Linux kernel for NVIDIA systems Details: Several security issues were discovered in the Linux kernel. An attacker could possibly use these to compromise the system. This update corrects flaws in the following subsystems: - ARM64 architecture; - Arm Firmware Framework for ARMv8-A(FFA); (CVE-2026-53354, CVE-2026-64520) Update instructions: The problem can be corrected by updating your system to the following package versions: Ubuntu 24.04 LTS linux-image-6.17.0-1029-nvidia 6.17.0-1029.29 linux-image-6.17.0-1029-nvidia-64k 6.17.0-1029.29 linux-image-nvidia-6.17 6.17.0-1029.29 linux-image-nvidia-64k-6.17 6.17.0-1029.29 linux-image-nvidia-64k-hwe-24.04 6.17.0-1029.29 linux-image-nvidia-hwe-24.04 6.17.0-1029.29 After a standard system update you need to reboot your computer to make all the necessary changes. ATTENTION: Due to an unavoidable ABI change the kernel updates have been given a new version number, which requires you to recompile and reinstall all third party kernel modules you might have installed. Unless you manually uninstalled the standard kernel metapackages (e.g. linux-generic, linux-generic-lts-RELEASE, linux-virtual, linux-powerpc), a standard system upgrade will automatically perform this as well.
