i right-clicked it, selected "Sharing Options," then clicked "Share
this folder" and then "Create Share"

wait a sec...

i am terribly sorry. please invalidate this bug. i am using another
computer right now and just now i checked to see if it was working,
and it is; i can connect to the share now.

sorry for wasting time.
