Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Please provide the /var/log/mysql.err and the
/var/log/mysql.log too because in the above files it is not mentioned
what caused the mysql-process to be interrupted.
Does 'aptitude reinstall mysql-server' has any effect?
