Public bug reported: Binary package hint: mysql-client-5.0
Ubuntu 8.04.1 mysql-client-5.0.51a-3ubuntu5.1 /usr/bin/mysqldump doesn't read /etc/mysql/my.cnf - it tries to read /etc/my.cnf and $HOMEDIR/.my.cnf, but thats it. An upstream, i.e. debian fellow told me that the debian package does work as it should. I've helped myself out with a symlink from /etc/my.cnf, but this should be fixed. Yes, I know mysql-5.1 will also look for /etc/mysql/my.cnf (http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.1/en/option-files.html), but again, this is still 5.0. ** Affects: mysql-dfsg-5.0 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- mysqldump doesn't pick up /etc/mysql/my.cnf https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/342578 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to mysql-dfsg-5.0 in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list [email protected] Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
