Package version: samba4: 4.0.3+dfsg1-0.1ubuntu4 samba: 2:4.1.3+dfsg-2ubuntu3 What did I expect to happen: Client auto-registration when running samba as active directory master works What happened instead: Client could not register (active directory master could not perform operation) Additional information: /var/log/messages contains information about a trap kernel: [ 155.531461] traps: samba[956] trap invalid opcode ip:7f55b1e328de sp:7fff834b9c38 error:0 in libHDB_SAMBA4.so.0[7f55b1e31000+2000] Remedy: As a solution I downloaded the newer 2:4.1.5+dfsg-1 from https://packages.debian.org/sid/samba and compiled from source.
