Normally this would not be possible as it would be a violation of our
stable release update policy
(https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates). Alternatives could be
the backports process (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuBackports) or to
use a non-LTS release or wait for the next one.

But in this case this might warrant an exception, which would need
approval from our Technical Board. I'm just waiting for a decision from
my tech lead on whether we want to drive this.
