Public bug reported:
Today I encountered a bug during the installation of mysql-server-5.6
(5.6.23-1~exp1~ubuntu5).
The output log is:
Setting up mysql-server-5.6 (5.6.23-1~exp1~ubuntu5) ...
2015-04-07 14:45:38 0 [Warning] TIMESTAMP with implicit DEFAULT value is
deprecated. Please use --explicit_defaults_for_timestamp server option (see
documentation for more details).
start: Job failed to start
invoke-rc.d: initscript mysql, action "start" failed.
dpkg: error processing package mysql-server-5.6 (--configure):
subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Errors were encountered while processing:
mysql-server-5.6
The same error happens if I try to install the ~ubuntu4 version or the 5.5
version (adjusting all the dependencies like mysql-server-core-5.X,
mysql-client-5.X, etc.)
** Affects: mysql-5.6 (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
