According to this bug report, https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89289 the first of these messages appears to be related to systemd, although probably is not due to exactly the same bug reported there. It does appear that you are running systemd on 14.10. This is not a supported configuration in 14.10, because systemd was only partially supported by certain key services (such as the rpc stack). So we can't provide support for an upgrade failure caused by running systemd on 14.10. ** Bug watch added: freedesktop.org Bugzilla #89289 https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89289 ** Changed in: rpcbind (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to rpcbind in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1448586 Title: package rpcbind 0.2.1-6ubuntu3 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess new pre-removal script returned error exit status 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/rpcbind/+bug/1448586/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list [email protected] Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
