Issue is fixed with new build, which has multipath-tools - 0.5.0-7ubuntu7:
root@pearlp5:~# uname -r
4.2.0-16-generic
root@pearlp5:~# dpkg -l |grep -i multipath-tools
ii multipath-tools 0.5.0-7ubuntu7 ppc64el
maintain multipath block device access
ii multipath-tools-boot 0.5.0-7ubuntu7 all
Support booting from multipath devices
