Public bug reported: While removing[1] sosreport from the server-ship seed (because it's already in server), I got feedback[2] that its entry in the "support" file might be redundant as well.
That looks correct, since: - it was added to support because of [3] #1206106 - sometime later, via bug [4] #1311274, it was added to cloud-image seed - even later, cloud-image seed got trimmed down in this commit[5]: commit c95c503ed56567d76b9f49850ccb9a85a29c523e Author: Scott Moser <smo...@ubuntu.com> Date: Thu Apr 28 13:51:22 2016 -0400 closer to removal of cloud-image seed - make cloud-image seed include ubuntu-server metapackage - move pollinate from cloud-image to server seed - remove all packages that are in ubuntu-server - add bug comments for the remaining packages (cloud-init, openssh-server) That is effectively what removed sosreport from the cloud-image seed, because it was included in another one already. This is as far as I investigated this. 1. https://code.launchpad.net/~ahasenack/ubuntu-seeds/+git/ubuntu/+merge/362996 2. https://code.launchpad.net/~ahasenack/ubuntu-seeds/+git/ubuntu/+merge/362996/comments/944723 3. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sosreport/+bug/1206106/comments/9 4. https://bugs.launchpad.net/cloud-images/+bug/1311274 5. https://git.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-core-dev/ubuntu-seeds/+git/ubuntu/commit/?id=c95c503ed56567d76b9f49850ccb9a85a29c523e ** Affects: sosreport (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server, which is subscribed to sosreport in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1815632 Title: seeds update: remove from supported To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sosreport/+bug/1815632/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
