Yeah, that was probably the cause. To finish fixing your system regarding the samba packages, you should be able to run these now:
sudo apt update sudo apt -f install Play close attention to what the last one tells you ("-f" stands for "fix"). If it doesn't look unreasonable and it's asking you to proceed, you may do so.
