Public bug reported: Samba bug #6297 - owner of sticky directory cannot delete files created by others. Full bug description and patch here:
http://lists.samba.org/archive/samba-cvs/2009-June/092336.html This has already been fixed in the Samba code base and released as part of Samba 3.3.5. (See 3.3.5 release notes http://www.samba.org/samba/history/samba-3.3.5.html) Would it be possible for the patch to be applied to the jaunty samba package (3.3.2)? I have a server that uses the sticky directory bit for Dropbox folders and currently the owners of the Dropboxes cannot delete files submitted by others even though they are supposed to be able to. I'd rather not have to install a newer samba manually or co-opt the karmic samba sources when this small patch could fix things. ** Affects: samba (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: jaunty samba sticky -- owner of sticky directory cannot delete files created by others https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/427718 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to samba in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list [email protected] Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
