1. To reproduce this problem: Boot off a Kubuntu Karmic Alpha 5 CD or USB (Ubuntu Karmic Alpha 5 does not have this bug) Attempt to play a media file off a shared drive on the local network (open Dolphin, type "smb:\\10.1.1.2\docos" (no quotes) into address bar, navigate to directory using the mouse, click on media file to launch media player & play media)
2. Expected Behavior: Media player (Kaffeine) launches, Media plays until the end of the media NB: Plugins may need to be installed to play media 3. Behavior actually encountered: Media player (Kaffeine) launches, NB: Plugins may need to be installed to play media Media stops before end of media (see https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kaffeine/+bug/420960 for another description of this problem) - High bitrate media (eg 720p .mkv video) seems to stop faster than low bitrate media - If Samba is not the correct package to file this bug under, could you please suggest a more appropriate one? Thanks, Ian Mackenzie PS: The behavior has been duplicated on another motherboard/CPU/Memory combination, so it is probably not specific to my hardware. -- Kubuntu Karmic i386 Alpha 5 network copy/stream from samba share glitch approximately every 5 minutes https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/425526 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to samba in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
