Based on @Pablo's comments could you confirm the kernel version in Karmic which is showing the issue, and if it is older than 2.6.31-11.38 could you update to the latest kernel (.39 or later) and retest. Please report both success or failure here. With failure please include output requested by Chuck in comment #8.
