I'm sorry to say that this is the only information I have about the bug. It happened during the execution of a procedure in the upgrade script. Since then, I installed a fresh copy of Jaunty Jackalope on the machine, not using slapd at all (I had installed it earlier on Hardy in order to find out more about LDAP, but I don't actually need the software.)
