Update Manager continually tries to install an important security update
to winbind and always fails with the following error:-

E: /var/cache/apt/archives/winbind_2%3a3.4.0-3ubuntu5.4_i386.deb:
subprocess new pre-removal script returned error exit status 2

I cannot upgrade Open Office to 3.2, it returns an error.

Previous reported errors seem to be related .

How can I resolve this?
