Yes, it works. We have already discussed it at

Here is the output in the terminal:
anat...@nlango:~$ sudo /etc/init.d/clamav-daemon start
[sudo] password for anatoly:
* Starting ClamAV daemon clamd
/usr/sbin/clamd already running.
[ OK ]
Now I agree that in my case it is not a bug.
