Public bug reported:

I got the community package of MySql5.1 set it up.

Everything worked well for the first day, on the second day root lost
all it's privileges after following a few guides to make it work, I got
my privileges but then I couldn't connect to it from another machine.

I gave up and Tried to uninstall the Setup and It would stay stuck at
uninstalling here is my Ubuntu forum thread.
