You have been subscribed to a public bug: Binary package hint: network-manager
Release: Karmic Alpha 3 Package: Network-manager I uninstalled network-manager (sudo apt-get remove --purge network- manager), because I wanted to install wicd which suits me better as a network-manager. Great was my surprise a few seconds afterwards when I realised I had no longer any network connection. No more browsing, unable to reinstall network-manager. No possibility to install wicd, not even any other package. This has never occurred with previous ubuntu-releases. With previous releases, when using the alternate-install-cd and choosing to install only a command-line-system, network-manager wasn't even installed. I just installed gnome-core, xorg, gdm and firefox from the command line and I could surf the net, install and uninstall almost every package you could name. Thanks for helping out. ** Affects: dhcp3 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Incomplete ** Tags: needs-reassignment -- No more network after removing network-manager https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/407302 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to dhcp3 in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
