Ok, found a fix... I don't think it's particularly elegant (reminds me of Windows), but it seems to have worked...
According to https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apache2/+bug/576255, I tried what "serggt1" (post #6) suggested. For me, it complained about the upwards dependency of the PHP5 mod: xxxxxx/$ sudo dpkg --purge --force-remove-reinstreq apache2.2-common dpkg: dependency problems prevent removal of apache2.2-common: libapache2-mod-php5 depends on apache2.2-common; however: Package apache2.2-common is to be removed. dpkg: error processing apache2.2-common (--purge): dependency problems - not removing Errors were encountered while processing: apache2.2-common Uninstalled PHP5 completelely and then tried the "dpkg --purge --force- remove-reinstreq apache2.2-common" again. No complaints this time. Then reinstalled apache2.2-common and then PHP5. Looks like everything is OK now. -- package apache2.2-common 2.2.14-5ubuntu8.2 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/645532 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to apache2 in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list [email protected] Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
