Public bug reported: Binary package hint: elinks
elinks accepts self-signed certificates without warning or raising an error. Sadly, this is a regression that got introduced somewhere between hardy and karmic. With hardy's version (0.11.3-5ubuntu2): # elinks -dump -eval 'set connection.ssl.cert_verify = 1' https://alioth.debian.org/account/login.php ELinks: SSL error with karmic and newer: # elinks -dump -eval 'set connection.ssl.cert_verify = 1' https://alioth.debian.org/account/login.php Link: [1]Alioth - Project News Highlights RSS (alternate) Link: [2]Alioth - Project News Highlights RSS 2.0 (alternate) Link: [3]Alioth - New Projects RSS (alternate) Link: [4]Alioth (search) [5]FusionForge Home [[6]_______] [7]_____________ [9]Log In [10]New [8][ Search ] Account [11]Home [12]My Page [13]Projects [14]Code Snippets [15]Project Openings [OUTPUT SNIPPED] ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.04 Package: elinks 0.12~pre5-2ubuntu2 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.38-8.42-server 2.6.38.2 Uname: Linux 2.6.38-8-server x86_64 Architecture: amd64 Date: Fri Apr 22 22:15:39 2011 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu-Server 11.04 "Natty Narwhal" - Alpha amd64 (20110211) ProcEnviron: LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: elinks UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: elinks (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug natty -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to elinks in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/769354 Title: elinks accepts self-signed ssl certificates without warning -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
