Andres, This is a real pain for those of us who would like to ensure that we don't lose data due to a failure during re-sync. If we don't take a snapshot prior to a re-sync of the secondary and there was a failure it could be catastrophic. I'm pretty sure Lars put out a patch which is mentioned in the original bug report.
I realize getting this into 10.04 can be a long process. Any chance in the mean time you would be willing to put up a patched version in the HA PPA? I could patch it myself however if you put it up at least it would be there for those that don't know how or don't want to modify their packages outside of apt.
