I'm also having trouble upgrading samba. I'm getting the following output:
Setting up samba (2:3.5.8~dfsg-1ubuntu2.2) ... start: Job failed to start invoke-rc.d: initscript nmbd, action "start" failed. dpkg: error processing samba (--configure): subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 Errors were encountered while processing: samba E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1) The funny thing is that samba is currently working! I tried to remove with purge but after reinstall the same thing happens again when installing (it installs but ends with the same error) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to samba in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/781478 Title: package samba 2:3.5.8~dfsg-1ubuntu2.1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list [email protected] Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
