As you can see from the log it would appear that the pre-installation part of the upgrade process was unable to stop the mysql instance. It's not possible to tell from the attachments why this is although it may be that the Amysql instance was already stopped. Please could you attach output from the following commands to this bug report: sudo ps -aef | grep mysqld sudo initctl list If mysql is not running please start if with the following command: sudo service mysql start If mysql start's OK please could you try to complete the upgrade.
