Clint pointed me at lp:~clint-fewbar/ubuntu/oneiric/ifupdown/static-network-up/ a few weeks ago. I made some changes to that to avoid the temp file needs and pushed those to lp:~smoser/ubuntu/oneiric/ifupdown/static-network-up/
