Hi Mark, thanks for taking the time to file a bug report. Setting up mysql-server-5.1 (5.1.54-1ubuntu4) ... invoke-rc.d: unknown initscript, /etc/init.d/mysql not found.
If you forcibly removed /etc/init.d/mysql , dpkg will respect that and leave it gone, as it is considered a configuration file. Try this: dpkg --force-confmiss -i /var/cache/apt/archives/mysql- server-5.1_5.1.54-1ubuntu4_i386.deb And then dpkg --configure -a Marking as Incomplete pending response. ** Changed in: mysql-5.1 (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to mysql-5.1 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/922425 Title: package mysql-server-5.1 5.1.54-1ubuntu4 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 100 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mysql-5.1/+bug/922425/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
