While the patch itself looks good and you have updated the debian/patches/series file so it will apply, the branch was against the version of php5 that was in Lucid at release, and not our currently updated packages. Can you update your merge proposal against this branch: https://code.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-branches/ubuntu/lucid/php5/lucid-updates
Then update debian/changelog accordingly (see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates#Procedure for details). Clint also asked that you fill in the SRU justification in the Bug description.
