I think this may be a duplicate of bug #711635 . Basically if the mysql
configuration is wrong, and mysqld can't start, mysql hangs forever in
'start/respawn'. Can somebody who is affected verify that the state of
the job is 'start/respawn' before you do the stop?

Also, makring the main task as Won't Fix, because Precise has 5.1
instead of 5.5.
