From my minimal experience, it's not too hard -- almost to the point of
"it just works".  It's definitely easier than LDAP (though of course it
also needs LDAP to fulfill the NSS requirement, but that's ).

All that's needed is a small nudge to have it working completely; just a
tweak here and there to config files, once the KDC and DNS entries are
set up.
