Hi,

I'm currently working on planning a large Linux cluster installation
with the potential to enter the top 100 of the TOP500 list next year.
But I am also involved in a discussion what the proposed supported
platform for this and a few other clusters shall be in the near future.
Right now, we have narrowed things down between CentOS and Ubuntu, but
CentOS looks a little bit ahead. Speaking for myself and a few collegues
we favour Ubuntu (or Debian) due to our experience with those
distribution over the past years and some bad experience with Red Hat or
RH derived distributions.

I am still looking for more good points on the Ubuntu part, and would be
very delighted if you could help me a bit with some good arguments in
favour of Ubuntu.

If you need more background, I am sure I can give you more.

Cheers

Carsten
