I downloaded the beta iso and tried again. Deleted all the partitions and 
rebuilt them from scratch (this time eliminating the separate /home partition 
for brevity's sake). Same result. Boots straight to BusyBox, upon which an 
'exit' command causes it to boot normally.

Any ideas?
