For a long time I have been hosting my server at home and never had any
problems with doing that. My ISP didn't give me any problems hosting my
server at home. Then a month ago I needed to move all my server services to
somewhere else for a few months while I get enough money to build a new
server that can do RAID 1. I have heard lots of people recommend Linode for
there great service and up time. I was convinced to go with them except when
I saw the price tag and looked for a alternative. I found a company called
Fivebean that had VPS hosting service for only $6 a month out of Dallas
Texas. So I decided to try them and that was a night mare. There images were
really bad and I even tried different images of Ubuntu and still no luck. It
had problems starting a newly install apache2 and finding and installing
packages. So I got a refund after a few hours of trying to get it working
and I looked back at Linode. I just said to myself I have no other option
and I got a Linode for $20 a month and hosting it in Atlanta. I have been
very happy with there service and never had any problems getting everything
installed and running. I would recommend Linode to anybody looking for a VPS
hosting company. Linode you rock!!
