Hi, all.
I run a lot of old Dell & HP servers that can't cope with Plymouth & won't
install 12.04.
I'm wondering does 10.04 suffer from the same affliction or could I install
that?
Any help appreciated.
Ubuntu 10.04 installs plymouth by default. Both my HP DL380 gen 5 and Dell
PowerEdge 2950 servers run 10.04 and 12.04 just fine. I can't say if your
hardware would deal with it. Give a Live USB a go and see.
Hi, Tyler.
I installed 10.04 on KVM on the Dell 860 & apart from the refresh rate
being awful, it caused no problems at all.
I want to install Lucid on my Dell 1850 & from what I've gleaned from a
fairly extensive Googling session it does install but everybody was
using X & complaining about the refresh rate but seeing as I'm going for
the server version it's of no consequence (the machine will be
controlled from another terminal in a different room anyway).
Still, I'll give your suggestion a whirl just to be on the safe side.
Thanks for your help,
Cheers,
Phil...
