Since the start of this 14.04 cycle I have been running Ubuntu 14.04 Desktop on an Ubuntu 12.04 server under KVM / QEMU. As of 2014.02.17 it became broken, and remains broken. I thought (hoped) this stuff might help. I created a new Ubuntu 14.04 server on a spare partition with the daily 64 bit iso of 2014.03.01 I created a new guest VM 14.04 64 bit desktop with the daily iso of 2014.03.02. Same problem. I added the above mentioned PPA, upgraded etc. Same problem. I.E. Because things are broken anyhow, I can not create a baseline from which to say if the new stuff is better or not. ...
