I have a headless server 325 miles away. About 20 to 25% of my remote reboots fail. The last one has the following log entries:
Jul 28 09:15:25 helen kernel: [3418711.388534] init: plymouth-upstart-bridge main process (9758) terminated with status 1 Jul 28 09:15:25 helen kernel: [3418711.388560] init: plymouth-upstart-bridge main process ended, respawning ... repeats 21 times Jul 28 06:25:55 helen rsyslogd: message repeated 45 times: [ [origin software="rsyslogd" swVersion="7.4.4" x-pid="854" x-info=" http://www.rsyslog.com"] rsyslogd was HUPed] Jul 28 09:15:25 helen rsyslogd: [origin software="rsyslogd" swVersion="7.4.4" x-pid="854" x-info="http://www.rsyslog.com"] exiting on signal 15. Is this a plymouth problem or rsyslogd? What should I do to improve the odds of a successful reboot? -- Kindness Works!
