Hello everyone - wishing you and all bugs a happy 2022! This is a special edition of our bug triage rotation due to the Christmas/NewYear shutdown phase. I looked at all the recent issues, which after excluding duplicates, there were 59 to look at. In addition as one would expect in such a downtime phase we had a longer list of 13 expired and 5 long term expired bugs. I retriaged each of them.
Even in a phase like now the majority were EOY bug status updates by the team closing bugs and uploading fixes as well as our recent efforts to re-triage old bugs. Most bugs I checked are resolved or assigned and will be worked on as the team starts again this week. A few cases needed some bug state update or a helping hand to reach the next step, but most were non-complex. Left as "worth to mention" for another look/discussion are: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/postfix/+bug/1915238 "warning: /var/spool/postfix/etc/ssl/certs/ca-certificates.crt and /etc/ssl/certs/ca-certificates.crt differ" This continued from Parides great analysis and now has a fix in Debian. Soon to be uploaded and synced from there, then we can consider SRUing the change. I tagged it server-todo to track and resolve that. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sssd/+bug/1928954 "sssd not using offline credentials even no network available" This accidentally auto-expired and might be worth another look. OTOH to be honest the final paragraph of comment #6 might be the answer, but maybe that delay can be configured? https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apache2/+bug/1939678 "Apache2 Balancer Manager not working after dist-upgrade to focal behind a Proxy" No update on the upstream case yet, but a rather brute-force hint. This isn't a solution but might help identify the root issue. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/virglrenderer/+bug/1950941 Integer underflow in the vrend_decode_set_shader_buffers() on virglrenderer" This is currently waiting for security, but the patch is trivial and I wonder if we should prep this for them to just upload it (patch on a plate). https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mysql-8.0/+bug/1954306 "Action `remove-instance` works but appears to fail" This might be worth a look for a repro and submitting it as an upstream case. Subscribed the team and Lars to have a look. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xen/+bug/1956166 "Ubuntu 22.04 doesn't boot with xen" While this is only in universe and community doesn't care much I wonder if it is time to avoid being stuck on 4.11 and drop as much no more needed delta as possible to sync or trivial-merge this. Universe or not, that seems better than being stuck with a super old version for the upcoming jammy release. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/containerd/+bug/1955413 "containerd 1.5.8 in bionic/focal" A request to update containerd to 1.5.8 for another set of CVEs, partially fixed by security already. But still probably time for another MRE update. -- Christian Ehrhardt Staff Engineer, Ubuntu Server Canonical Ltd -- ubuntu-server mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server More info: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ServerTeam
