I think the culprit to the is molly-guard. At the end of do-release-upgrade a
reboot prompt appears but do-release-upgrade won't allow answering the
molly-guard prompt so you're left with exiting the install or some other
option. Is there any way to fix this short of booting to install media? Due
to a number of issues we have to visit the physical site to do that. Thanks
for your help.
