I'm not a KXStudio dev, but I know that GStreamer can be set up to route sound directly to JACK without any PulseAudio layers in the middle. It even had a GUI called 'gstreamer-properties' for that. Since Banshee uses GStreamer, it's the easiest way to make it output sound to JACK.
