For those of us using laptops/netbooks, wicd or something like it that puts a monitor in the status area of the top bar is pretty much a must. It seems some of it is there but not all. I installed wicd and wicd-gtk to get it working. The problem is that sometimes the wireless link goes south and doesn't reset automatically. Having an icon that can reset (disconnect and reconnect) and show status can be a real help... better than opening a terminal and bouncing the connection that way.... turning the transx off and on has other problems too.
